Internet requirements depend on the mower’s navigation mode and remote features. Check coverage, included service periods and the repair route for the exact US model.
Does every robot mower need internet to navigate?
There is no single rule for every system. Husqvarna’s EPOS guidance distinguishes cloud positioning, which needs stable internet across the work area, from a local reference station that can provide navigation without internet. Remote app functions are a separate question. Ask which navigation mode is proposed for your mower, which connections it needs and what remains available if a connection is interrupted.
How should coverage be checked at an Ohio property?
Start with the manufacturer’s coverage information for the proposed service, then assess the actual mowing area, dock and passages. A network coverage result does not establish that every part of the lawn will work reliably. Husqvarna also cautions that a phone’s mobile signal may not represent the mower’s network connection. Include difficult corners in testing, and ask the installer to demonstrate the selected configuration.
What does included connectivity cover?
Read the current terms for the model and service being quoted. Mammotion’s US 4G terms list three years of included data for its 2026 LUBA 3 AWD products. Navimow’s US support page says Network RTK access and the cellular data required for it are included without an additional charge. Those statements describe different services. Ask about remote control, tracking, positioning, optional features and charges after an included period ends; do not turn an introductory data allowance into a blanket lifetime promise.
Are warranty, installation and paid care the same thing?
Treat them as separate parts of the purchase. Read the manufacturer’s limited warranty for the exact model, components and type of use. Navimow’s US policy, for example, lists different periods for the mower and battery or power adapters. Kress’s US table distinguishes residential and commercial use and lists battery and charger coverage separately. Ask who handles diagnosis, approved repair, shipping and any work outside coverage. Keep the sales receipt and model information.
What should the installer show at handover?
Ask for a demonstration of normal start, pause, stop, charging and the app controls you will use. Review the agreed mowing zones, boundaries, stay-out areas and the remaining trimming. Keep a record of the map and setup decisions. Establish whose account owns the mower and how any installer access is granted or removed. Enter account credentials yourself; a public quote form should not ask for passwords.
What belongs in a continuing support plan?
Put the included work in writing: remote help, on-site visits, travel, blade replacement, cleaning, map changes, pickup and winter storage if offered. Confirm how requests are made and what response target the provider can meet. A paid care plan should not be confused with the manufacturer’s warranty or an unlimited repair promise. For a mower you already own, provide the exact model and describe the work needed before scheduling.
