Capacity ranges describe different variants. Slope percentages are grades, not degrees. Interior and boundary ratings may differ. Check current specifications using the sources on each mower’s detail page.
Measure the grass you actually mow, excluding the home, driveway and garden beds. Leave capacity for your preferred mowing window instead of sizing only to a maximum rating.
Check tree cover, building shadows, slope at the boundary and safe routes between zones. A large slope number alone does not establish a safe fit.
Plan charging, available mowing hours and disconnected areas. Large residential and commercial properties may need multiple machines or a different equipment class.
Ohio State Extension advises a height of 3 inches or higher for a typical residential lawn. Choose a mower whose range fits your grass and seasonal plan; don’t assume every robotic mower cuts high enough.
Try one mow on your own lawn. Keep and purchase the mower: free setup, no extra travel charge. Decline: $100 total for setup and removal.
